Sunny Hills is always tough to play, no matter their League record. Its senior night and the team recognizes our 6 seniors for their contributions to our program.
Fullerton starts out flat and is slow to the ball and not looking like a team that came into this game 8-0 in league. The lancers get some shots off, but goal keeper Patrick Bulubenchi saves take FHS to a 0-0 half time. A kick in the pants half time speeches by the Coach’s fires the team up. 2:00 minutes into the second half Misael Gonzalez on a pass from Garrett Elkermann scores and puts FHS up 1-0. Sunny hills fights back and 11:00 minutes later score to tie the game at 1-1.
Now charged up the Lancers press Fullerton and score again in the 65:00 to go up 2-1. On the brink of loosing their first League game, FHS gets energized and with time running out in the game Misael shots and its blocked by the goal keeper, but Nickolas Arnold follows up and ties the game at 2-2. Two full 10:00 minute overtimes follow, the first ten minutes both teams trade punches and no score. Fullerton is on a mission to win. 6:00 minutes into the second overtime on a pass from Misael (second assist of the game) Nickolas Arnold gets his second goal of the night to win the game in overtime 3-2. An exciting nail biting game and JV follows with a 1-0 win.
