Game #21 1/28/19 League #9 Buena Park @ Fullerton WIN 3-2
The pregame was set to recognize the efforts of Fullerton’s seven Seniors for a Great Season and a job well done. Having gone to a 0-0 tie in double overtime the last time we played Buena Park we were anxious going into todays game. The game started off as a hard fought with both teams trading shots, but in the 19:00 minute Buena Park’s #12 finds the near post of Fullerton’s goal after Jayson Arnold blocked a shot and was on the ground for the games first score. It takes Fullerton till the 39:00 minute for Aldo Osorio on a great follow up shot to score the first goal for the Indians. The half ends 1-1, all tied up. The second half starts off with FHS needing only 3:00 minutes for Joseph Espinoza to pass to Alexis Benavidez to score. However 11:00 minutes later the Coyotes on a terrific shot from 25 yards out score as the ball bounces off Michael Fernandez’s out stretched hands and off his finger tips and into the top of the goal to tie the game.
Fullerton keeps pressing and in the 73:00 minute Aaron Zarate takes a shot thats blocked and following up Joseph Espinoza scores the game winner for Fullerton. The bench celebrates the game winning goal by attacking Joseph on the field, as a result Coach Shumaker gets a Yellow card. No one cares because the team gets word that Sunny Hills beats Troy 2-1, as a result Fullerton WINS the Freeway League Championship and beats Buena Park 3-2 for the 7th league win.
