Troy High School vs Fullerton High School
39 23

Yesterday afternoon the girls cross country team went head to head with Troy High School on Troy’s home course. Freshmen Amanda Chin and Kathryn Ardon competed at the frosh-soph levels and put up a good fight. The varsity team secured both the second and third place spots. Freshman Morgan McAndrew was the first to cross the line for Fullerton and won second place with a time of 19:23. This broke her previous personal record of 19:50! Senior Ali Williams followed closely coming in second for Fullerton and third overall with a time of 20:11. Darlene Oropeza secured an eighth place finish with a time of 23:53 while showing improvement from her previous time this season of 24:23. Sophomore, Elizabeth Arcos, and junior, Hannah Torres, also aided the varsity team by battling Troy until the bitter end. Despite the effort and heart displayed by our runners Fullerton was defeated 39 to 23. We wish to extend our appreciation to ASB for their continued support and incredible display of school spirit as well as JROTC for manning the course. We would also like to thank Troy and their cross country team for their hospitality and for the live YouTube feed that made viewing this event safe and possible for all those that couldn’t join us. Catch us at Sunny Hills next Wednesday, February 24th, as we take on the Lancers on their home course!
