The Fullerton girls track team competed in the Fullerton City Championships which included league foes Sunny Hills and Troy high school. It was the first official meet of the season for the tribe but that did not stop numerous girls from setting new personal bests. The meet was scored by awarding five points for an individual race win, three points for 2nd place, two points for 3rd place, and one point for 4th place.
Varsity Girls Sprints: Jasmine tied for 3rd place in the girls 100m (14.18) and scored another point in the 200m (29.52). Ali Williams won the 400m in a season best time of 62.17 and anchored the winning 4×400 which also included Presli Dillon, Natasha Pavalek, and Nyla Sanders. Natasha Pavalek also placed 3rd in the 100m hurdles (19.68) to add 2 points to the team score.
Varsity Girls Distance: Ali Williams won the girls 1600m in a season best 5:43.96 by leading from the gun and sprinting away in the last 150 meters. Freshman Elizabeth Arcos scored a point with her 4th place finish (6:23.07) and ran an impressive debut 3200m (13:20.46).
Varsity Girls Field Events: Senior Madeline Olivas threw 24’4.0” in the girls shot put to score 1 point for the Indians.
The girls will face La Mirada High School at La Mirada next Wednesday (03/11) at 3pm.
