Fullerton High School vs La Habra High School
28 28

After a long period of training and uncertainty the girls cross country team was able to participate in their first competition of 2021! Freshmen Amanda Chin and Kathryn Ardon Cortes debuted in their first ever cross country competition in high school at the Frosh-Soph level. Amanda crossed the finish line in first place and Kathryn came in third place. The varsity race was extremely close and runners battled to the very end. Senior Ali Williams crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 20:21. Freshman Morgan McAndrew followed closely with a time of 20:29 in her first cross country race of her high school career. Junior Katie Sprague secured the 5th place spot with a time of 23:03. Darlene Oropeza, Hannah Torres, and Elizabeth Arcos supported the team throughout the racing and by finishing strong. Scoring the first five runners from each team Fullerton and La Habra were 28 to 28, which invokes the 6th and 7th runners as displacement scores. It was in this final scoring that La Habra took the victory over Fullerton. Although this was not a win on paper, this was by all means a display of the success athletes acquire when they are resilient and dedicated. We are proud of our performance and ability to show our community what we have accomplished in a safe and responsible manner. Thank you to La Habra for hosting and we look forward to facing Buena Park next Wednesday, February 10, at 3:00 pm.
